If you haven’t heard about the new FDA regulations, as well as state and local laws affecting vaping, you will soon. Recent regulations have made it more difficult for small vape shops to operate effectively. Even worse, these regulations are making it more difficult for you to get quality products.
Luckily, there are several ways you can get involved and help work toward a better future for the vaping community and yourself.
Support Local Shops
One of the easiest ways to get involved simply requires you to continue vaping. Support your local vape shops. Head over to Draper Vapor to find a variety of juices, mods, and other vaping products. The more support you give to local shops, the more these shops can offer you.
Join Advocacy Groups
Whether it’s a city, state, or national advocacy group you’re interested, it’s time to make the leap to membership. Consumer Advocates for Smoke Free Alternatives Association (CASAA) offers free membership, which includes information on what is happening in the vaping comunity around the country, opportunities for engagement, and more.
Businesses should consider joining the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association (SFATA). At Draper Vapor, our president and CEO, Nathan Coccimiglio, is also the president of the Utah chapter of SFATA.
Other national advocacy groups to consider include American Vaping Association (AVA), Not Blowing Smoke, and The Vaping Militia.
Talk About Vaping
In many areas around the state, and the country as a whole, vaping is seen as faux-pas. Some people try to hide that they vape, while others feel awkward about it. If you want to see vaping continue, it’s important that you talk about it. If vaping has helped you quit smoking cigarettes, remember that this is a victory! You’ve made steps to better your health and improve your life. Don’t shy away from talking about your experience.
Write Letters
It’s your right to let your legislators know where you stand on any issue. If your area is passing laws against vaping, if you’re concerned about the new FDA regulations, or if you feel that your rights are being ignored, speak up.
Write a letter to your city, state, and national representatives. Tell them your story and let them know your concerns. Write a letter to the editor at your local newspaper. Write blog posts and comments. Get your thoughts out there, whether on paper or through digital means.
Support Better Legislation
There are a lot of proposed laws out there. Knowing which ones to support can be difficult. Currently the FDA is requiring all vaping products released before 2007 to go through rigorous and expensive approval. The “Cole bill”, or HR 2058 changes the grandfathered date from 2007 to 2015. This would help keep your favorite local vape shops in business.
Stand up and let your voice be heard. Nothing is going to change for the better if everyone simply sits back. Know that you have power to help change the laws and regulations, before vaping is shut down nation-wide.
We do not have the luxury of having a local Vape shop so how can I support my local store. I am an adult who is choosing to Vape over smoking cigarettes and yet I cannot buy the supplies or the E juice.
I am extremely upset over the fact that as an adult I cannot purchase what I need but yet I can purchase cigarettes and I can purchase alcohol which kills just as many people.
Let us buy online again, if you’re not going to supply every city in this whole entire state of Utah with a Vape shop then let us buy online.
